He is an alabai, a traditional Turkmen dog which is renowned as a beautiful and courageous animal, that for many centuries has helped Turkmen shepherds to safeguard flocks of cattle in heavy conditions of sandy desert. Today the Alabai is treasured by the Turkmen people not only as courageous protector but also as a loyal friend.

The main festivities took place at the foothills valley near Ashgabat, which is called Nowruz Ýaýlasy (Nowruz valley) by the resolution of the President of Turkmenistan. There was temporarily set up a Turkmen village with yurts with carpeted flooring, farmsteads with pets, smoking cauldrons, craft workshops and the traditional oriental bazaar with stalls and brisk salesmen.

Read more →In the international basketball tournament in the 3х3 format that was held in the city of Eindhoven (Holland), the national female team of Turkmenistan won gold medals, and the male team – silver.
On the way towards the final and the highest award, the Turkmen female team deactivated five teams of different countries. In the decisive duel, the winners met with the host team – «Pendragodinnen» Club, and won 15:10 victory.

The infrastructure of the Ashgabat Olympic Complex is formed around the existing Olympic stadium, in a central area of the capital, ensuring easy access to all facilities of the complex.
